Business trip with Dad
Hi,
This week I took 2 days off school, to go to Aarhus in Jylland with my dad on a business trip. At the time he is working on a huge project called MidtLink for a hospital, and it is going be a sort of Facebook for the hospital only. So if a doctor or nurse has a question about anything hospital related, then the rest of the 9000 doctors and nurses at the hospital, will be able to answer the question. MidtLink is part of a system to make sure that the people working at the hospital can view all of the patients medical history, instead of it all being on paper in drawers.
This is a really fun experience
And certainly good practice, because next year in school we are doing these internships for about a week. So it is really good to get an idea of what it’s going to be like. I would really like to try to work at UNICEF.
All I’ve really done up until now is packing these envelopes filled with 10 postcards about MidtLink. Some of the employees get an envelope and then they give their 10 postcards to 10 of their colleagues. That way everyone will know about MidtLink.

Theme Days: How my Bag is Packed – computer bag
Hi,
I’m really sorry that I didn’t make the last post in time. I’ve just been really busy with school and homework. Anyway today I am writing about a computer bag, and it is very handy because it is build into the bag. There is a big pocket on one side of the bag, made out of some sort of computer bag material. It’s very good because now I don’t have to always bring a bag for my computer on the side.
That was all for this post and theme week. I hope you enjoyed it even with the little delay. Sorry.
My two favourite things
“two good things equal one great thing”
My two favourite things at the time:
- The most fantastic hand cream ever, from The Body Shop - that I bought yesterday on my shopping spree. It makes your hands smell sooo good.
- The best licorice ever, I bought it yesterday too in a store called Søstrene Grene (they sell knick knacks).
Doing nothing on a Saturday
“finally spring break!”
I’m really happy that I’m on holiday, I really needed it. Yesterday I went shopping with a few of my friends and I got a sweater that I really like. You can use it for school and you can also use it for relaxing in the weekend – or in the evening.
Today I decided to do nothing which is probably my favorite hobby right now : )
~ The purse is there because I thought it matched the sweater quite well ~
A dangerous cocktail: New years eve and a (reading) jetlag!
WELCOME 2012!
I hope you had a lovely christmas and a happy new year, I certainly was ready for that holiday! I had a really nice time at my gran and granda’s place in Ireland this christmas. We just got home the 30th – even though the time difference is only one hour, it seems that this “jet lag” mixed with a late new years eve results in insomnia.
Yes, so here I am at something past two in the morning blogging – because I’ve simply managed to do everything else since eleven (when I went to bed). What I’ve been doing since eleven:
- 11: Talking to my little sister (who I by the way am having a “sleep-over” with tonight) about how annoyingly hot it is in our room.
- 11:30: Tossing and turning after the light has been turned of (and the radiator!). I’m just thinking: I am never going to sleep ever again!
- 00:00: Turning on the lights (Ciara asleep), walking upstairs to tell my parents I can’t sleep. Response: “Go read for a while…”
- 1:30: Tadah! Done reading my daily couple of chapters of Breaking Dawn. Still not tired!
- 1:45: Tell my parent (who have now gone to bed) that I can’t sleep. Walk into the living room – see the computer…
- 1:50: BLOG! About my awesome (sarcastic) life.
I was actually going to blog about a christmas eve outfit – but the pictures for it aren’t finished, yet.
I think my sleeplessness has come because of all the late staying up over the christmas and the late night last night (New Years Eve!)
Wish you all the luck in the new year!
Aisling

No, no, no, no… NO! Whatever you are thinking, I do not need sleep. Because you see the sort of exhaustion that I am going through right now, is not lack of sleep. But what makes a person even more exhausted is the fact that when they try to tell people every day that the need just a little break, the only 1, single line that you get stuck right into your face is “You need sleep!”. I mean isn’t this always what you have been told: “Remember, you should always tell us how you feel.” But no-no when you then eventually tell people how you feel, it just seems like, it hasn’t popped into the people’s mind that: “Ok, maybe this certain person actually needs a break from whatever is tiring this person out, (homework, too much responsibility, not enough parent support – though I’m only going through the homework thing).
So I’m sorry – but that is why I haven’t blogged since November 19th + wordpress has been acting weird on my school computer.
Luckily my christmas holidays already start on Friday (3 days) and then I’m going to Ireland on Sunday (5 days)! But don’t worry I’m not depressed, I’m still happy, hyper, silly Aisling – it’s just a phase, I have fun at school and stuff
appreciate life,

She’s a Surviver!
Hello!
Oh yes! My alter worked! My bunny is as alive as ever – and I feel terrible that I was away on a scouts camp when she was at the vet. And in a very freakish way I feel that she knows that I wasn’t there, and I haven’t been forgiven yet, unfortunately. The poor things had their tummy shaved (sorry, but it looks ridiculous) and also found out that the food we were giving them were like candy for them, so we made a ‘Bunnie Food Pyramide’ apparently the very best thing for them is grass lots and lots of grass. I picked lots of dandelion leaves for them on a lawn today. The are going to have their stitches taken out soon, and after that they can live with each other again – YAY!
But a part from that I’ve had a great! It was very cold and wet, and one night I woke up like 3-4 times because the rain was hitting the tent really hard. At one point I got afraid a tree was going to fall on us, but that was clearly an exaggeration. I am very thankful that I could borrow the thermal sleeping bag – I don’t know what I would have done with out it. While I was there my new friend and I were interviewed (http://pigespejder.dk/nc/forside/aktuelt/nyheder/nyhed/vis/udfordringer-nye-venner-ungleder/) about the camp by the people that write stuff on the girl scouts’ website. It actually ended up on the front page – I am regretting that I wore my pink hat from 2nd grade.
While I was gone my family went shopping for clothes in H&M, Waterfront (My heaven!) AND they went to Tivoli and saw the biggest pumpkin (288kg) in Denmark (So Jealous…). I can’t say that I didn’t want to go with them…
Going back to school tomorrow

Staying Really Warm
Hi again,
Hope that you all are having a nice AUTUMN BREAK, for those of you that have holiday. I am looking so much forward to this holiday because I am going on a scouts camp to Vejle (Jutland). Well not that it’s a bad thing but apparently we are going to sleep in tents or in shelters in -5 °C… “Yikes!”. My pack list was the craziest thing yet, it went on for 2 pages! I have to bring 15 pairs of regular socks and on top of that 5 pairs of ‘over-the-knee’ woolen socks. SO thanks to my my wonderful mum, I now have new… rain gear, socks (x20), ski underwear, top, gloves (x4), fleece ear warmers and my mum accidently shrunk my woolen sweater in the wash (now it fits Halley) so she so kindly gave me hers! I was also so lucky that our neighbor Lina could lend my a thermal sleeping bag, thank you!
I hope that I can stay all warm – while I’m sleeping and awake. I leave tomorrow so I won’t be able to blog this week.

PS. Malou – my bunny is being operated while I’m gone. It’s an operation that bunnies sometimes die of so I’ve made an ‘alter-of-luck’ in my room with all the stuff that’s hers or reminds me of her. (Wish her luck!)
Always Remember!
Hi! I’ve learned some quite unusual stuff that might help someone in similar situations (or questions) that might pop-up in your life. I mean I’ve learned stuff that could cause death! (and just to be clear I haven’t just learned to cross at the green light).
- Give your grandmother clear information about what to feed your bunny while you’re on holiday. You just might get back to a grandmother feeding lettuce (they get deadly diarrhea from that!) to them.
- Don’t cycle 20 km with baggage for 2 weeks on the back. You get very sore knees! Up hill, down hill – all the way!
- To do extreme stuff is the way of living your life.
- When you’re 12 you aren’t too big to have your dad read a story for you on a holiday.
- Svaneke on Bornholm in Denmark is the town of sweets, they have a caramel-, chocolate-, ice cream- and candy factory/shop.
- Us that haven’t lost anyone in the terrible Norway incidents are moving on. But those people that have, the people with so much grief have to live with it for the rest of their lives.
Ridiculous “Childrens-Job-Imaginations”
First I would like anyone reading this post to take a moment and think about Norway and all the families that have to go through this terrible time.
….
I don’t know if I’m the odd one… but I obviously don’t have any of they same “dreams” as anyone else. You see it in movies you read it in books or most likely you wanted to be something normal when you were little/young, like a doctor, model, scientist or something. But I have different ideas – am I too ambitious? I’ve changed my mind a lot (back and forth). Okay out with it!
First i wanted to be a designer (not so weird, but you wait) – then a Photographer – nature photographer – florist – then a landscape designer – adventurist/nature photographer (blogged about it!) – environmental scientist – Guru, I’ll find my inner peace (I was inspired after watching Kong Fu Panda II… LOL) – and (probably not) last but not least, environmental scientist (again…)
And so it will go on until I finally have to decide. I dread it! – Good luck me.
